May we not lose touch

Kanashii.. Hontoni kanashii.. It was the atmosphere of the day. The day when one of our greatest teacher, who had left us.

The Additional Mathematics teacher, Ms. Lim Li Ping has left us on 15.072008. This post is dedicated to our dearest teacher, the times we had together and party held with her, together.

Since 2007, she had slowly guided us through the first chapter, Functions. She would use various examples to teach us. A year and a half later, she left us.

From a selfish student point of view, I wouldn't want her to go but if when we finally know what is best for her, we just have to wish her good luck and bid her farewell..

All the best, Ping Jie!!!!!!

The farewell party post will come on another day.. so, do bear with us.

Biggest Logo Formation Made of Recyclable Materials

As usual, I woke up late and brushed my teeth, got everything prepared and left the house. While on my way, I slept well in the vehicle. I should be there by 7a.m.. But well.. Who cares!

12th July 2008, the day when the 4-Stars Project started and also ended, on the same day. The project was a success. Cheers!

The project was an idea by the Key Club, and it came to reality with the help of the other 3 clubs. In the school hall of Sri Garden, Dewan Tan Sri Dato’ Loy Hean Heong, a total students of 60 participants from the Key Club, Interact Club, Multimedia Club and Young Entrepreneur’s Club, started by assembling materials for the breaking of the record, ‘Biggest Logo Formation made of Recyclable Materials’, endorsed by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR).

The students are not enthusiastic in everything they do. I can’t see the enthusiasm in them. I want to encourage all of you here to participate more and win more medals for the school. Actually, you don’t help the school but yourself!” Mr. Khaw said.

Our school theme this year is somewhat related to the environment. Therefore, we aim to do this project and break the record of the national biggest logo made, and what more, to increase awareness on environmental issues, especially deforestation. Not to left out, to be enthusiastic too.

With a grand total of 60 members, the entire process took us 7 hours, which is from 9.00a.m. to 4.00p.m.. The VIP of the day was Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Lam Thye, who was here as the witness of on behalf of Malaysia Book of Records.

In fact, this event took few days for discussion. And then, after making sure that the school and Malaysia Book of Records approved our idea, it took around 2 months to collect the required materials. We started to collect at the end of May until the beginning of July, where we were still in constant anxiety as we feared that we will not have enough materials for the logo. By July, we finalized all the finer details such as publicity to the parents, the confirmation of the attendance of various press and media and the attendance of the VIP(s).

It was really a great challenge to the organising committee with the sudden rejection of the first idea by MBR, the materials that we need and from some other unmentionable aspects. Nevertheless, when 12 July came, we all were pumped with adrenaline and excitement.

Way Back Into Love

This post is dedicated to Chia Hoong and Lilian as the spotlights are on them. Well, not to left out ‘keh leh fehs’.. They are included in this post as well.

We shall start off with audition. On the 3rd July 2008, Chia Hoong and Lilian sang 'Way Back into Love'. Coincidentally, there was another pair who had chosen the same song. Personally, I find their voice kind of match and was much better than the other pair.

Woooooooooo!!!~~ It was then announced that they will enter the finals with the other 3 pairs. Amazingly, Chia Hoong worked really hard and started practicing after school, even harder for the big day.

And well, the day finally came!

After few solos and pairs, Chia Hoong and Lilian came up to the stage. We cheered out loud and shouted out of our lungs to support them.

The whole event was a success, fortunately. You may not know why I use the word, but I have my own reasons! If the contestants did not take it for granted, they may perform even better.

That is not all, but due to the constraint of time, we leave it for the time being....
